what a good person should be.
Just be one.

and our experience comes from our foolishness.

where life is surrounded by mystery
than live in a world so small

House of cards, getting ready to fall
We don’t own our houses even if there is no mortgage. The government can take them away by eminent domain. If we fall behind in taxes, we lose our homes. If we don’t have enough money for inheritance taxes, our children don’t inherit the home or they have to sell it or they have to pay the taxes in order to “own” the property. We are bio-robots. read more here
Sacred Journey of the Peaceful Warrior
I find Dan Millman’s books easy to read, but with some very powerful messages. He shows through Socrates “adventures” how spiritual growth can occur. He illustrates how growth is slow, challenging and frought with many obstacles. read more here
We live in an angry society
I’ve been contemplating whether to acquiesce or resist the nagging feeling to write about the level and types of anger demonstrated at all strata of society. There is the philosophical saying that what you resist persists, so I’ve decided to list a few examples of the damage and stranglehold anger has on this society.
Permit me to list and express an observation on the phenomenon of anger that seems endemic to our social fabric in Guyana. read more here
The Art of Dreaming
A few days after posting the UFO radio encounter tale, I wondered if I’d already posted all my most unusual experiences here. It occurred to me that there might others that I couldn’t think of and that later they would come to mind. Sure enough, after reading a post on out-of-body experiences by Marcus Anthony on his fascinating blog, an exotic dream experience came to mind. So here it is. read more here
Osho on Carlos Castaneda and His Guru Don Juan
Question – Is Carlos Castaneda’s Guru, Don Juan an Enlightened Master?
Osho – If there were someone like Don Juan he would be enlightened, he would be like a Buddha or a Lao Tzu — but there is nobody like Don Juan. Carlos Castaneda’s books are ninety-nine per cent fiction — beautiful, artful, but fiction. As there are scientific fictions, there are spiritual fictions also. There are third-rate spiritual fictions and first-rate ones: if you want third-rate, then read Lobsang Rampa; if you want first-rate, then read Carlos Castaneda. He is a great master — of fiction. read more here
Chuck’s Place: Lions & Tigers & Bears, Oh Yes! Sorcerers & Witches & Shamans & Seers!
Words have power. Terms like sorcerers and witches conjure shady if not evil purpose. It was not until his final works that Carlos Castaneda decided to use the term “shaman” to describe his teacher, don Juan. Don Juan himself referred to his lineage as Seers. Seers are men and women of knowledge, who, through their unbending intent and ability to achieve inner silence, are capable of seeing energy as it flows in the universe. Read more here

The long-awaited fourth installment of James Redfield’s million-selling “Celestine” series is expected next year. “The Twelfth Insight” will be Redfield’s first “Celestine” novel since 1999. The author says it “describes a new wave of religious tolerance and integrity.” Read more here
Carlos Castaneda on Keithpp’s Blog
I first came across Peruvian-born American anthropologist and author Carlos Castaneda (1925-1998) and his peyote induced encounters with Don Juan in the early 1970s. The Teachings of Don Juan and the books that followed were cult reading, at least it was so in the hippie circles I moved in at the time. Read more here
Character of the week: Castaneda
Nothing in this world is given as a present: everything has to be learned with a great deal of effort. A man who seeks knowledge must have the same behavior as a soldier going to war: absolutely attentive, afraid, respectful and utterly confident. If he follows these recommendations, he may lose the odd battle but he will never cry over his fate. Read more here
The Teachings of Don Juan a Yaqui way of Knowledge by Carlos Castaneda
Last chapter Don Juan Actually named the drug he was taking for the first time. In a ritualistic manor the two men ingested peyote cacti and experience a strange and lucid trip. they discuss actually meeting “mescalito” and discribe the entire trip as well as him in vivid detail. I found it very interesting because it dances the border between fiction and non-fiction. Read more here
#Day 27 Enlightening yourself
Now I’m start liking Dan Millman – even follow his twitter to be inspired every day. *grin wildly* Brian Johnson’s favourite author as well. I was inspired by his the other book, Body Mind Mastery, that the Philosophers Notes has introduced to us few days ago. Other than awe is inspired, by every sentence that Brian Johnson had picked up from Dan Millman’s books. Dan Millman explored 12 gateways to personal growth, which are: 1. Discover your worth. 2. Reclaim your will. 3. Energize your body. 4. Manage your money. 5. Tame your mind. 6. Trust your intuition. 7. Accept your emotions. 8. Face your fears. 9. Illuminate your shadow. 10. Embrace your sexuality. 11. Awaken your heart. 12. Serve your world Read more here
