Utter Awareness
“Therefore, the Rule for the seers of the new era is preparation; that is their distinctive stamp. They should not only prepare in terms of the arts of sorcery, but also cultivate their minds in order to know and understand everything. The intellect is the comfort of today’s Toltec, just as in the past, it was the affection for rituals.” ~ Carlos Castaneda, Encounters with the Nagual. Rear more here

Carlos Castaneda – quote
“The trick is in what one emphasizes.
We either make ourselves miserable, or we make ourselves happy.
The amount of work is the same.”

The Reflection of “Peaceful Warrior”
It is a movie that was edited from a novel named “Way of The Peaceful Warrior”. It is combined with part of fiction and part of autobiography. This story is based on the early life of the author, Dan Millman…….
Parking Lot Spirituality
uesday night, after my men’s group meeting, I was talking with several younger friends (they all seem younger these days) in the parking lot. I knew that one of them, we’ll call him Homer (to protect the innocent), was a student of Zen principles so I showed him a book I’ve been reading, The Zen of Recovery by Mel Ash….
[Book Club Review] Way of the Peaceful Warrior
Dan Millman’s Way of the Peaceful Warrior serves as a self-help book in disguise. Millman is the author as well as the protagonist. The book is based on his college experience at UC Berkeley……

Petty Tyrants as Great Teachers
Carlos Castaneda once said that petty tyrants can be our greatest teachers. For a lot of us, learning how to use the Internet to develop our business is a constant learning experience. Read more here
Mescalito, Ancient Sacred Knowledge
Don Juan often told Carlos Castaneda to approach the plant allies with respect. Plants are sacred, living beings. Many cultures create their ceremonies by first honoring the sacred plants. Some sing songs to it, some rattle or drum, others create special altars. Read more here
Dreaming the Eighth Step
In Carlos Castaneda’s The Second Ring of Power, la Gorda tells Carlos that she learned everything in dreaming (pp. 159-160). “Everything for a woman warrior starts in dreaming,” she tells him. Having read that, I am not so skeptical about my own experiences in dreaming. Though I have no idea how I was able to dream with the women shamans last fall, my intent was pure, and it worked. Gorda had the same issue. Read more here
Vladimir Megre
Anastasia by Vladimir Megre…
absolutely the most amazing book I have ever read in my life. It has changed my outlook so profoundly. And now all I want to do it rant about it. However, if I do that I know I’ll say the wrong thing about it, so I can only rant about it with someone that has read it… It’s a good thing my friend Sarah is in the process of reading it. House of cards, getting ready to fall
We don’t own our houses even if there is no mortgage. The government can take them away by eminent domain. If we fall behind in taxes, we lose our homes. If we don’t have enough money for inheritance taxes, our children don’t inherit the home or they have to sell it or they have to pay the taxes in order to “own” the property. We are bio-robots. read more here
Sacred Journey of the Peaceful Warrior
I find Dan Millman’s books easy to read, but with some very powerful messages. He shows through Socrates “adventures” how spiritual growth can occur. He illustrates how growth is slow, challenging and frought with many obstacles. read more here
We live in an angry society
I’ve been contemplating whether to acquiesce or resist the nagging feeling to write about the level and types of anger demonstrated at all strata of society. There is the philosophical saying that what you resist persists, so I’ve decided to list a few examples of the damage and stranglehold anger has on this society.
Permit me to list and express an observation on the phenomenon of anger that seems endemic to our social fabric in Guyana. read more here
The Art of Dreaming
A few days after posting the UFO radio encounter tale, I wondered if I’d already posted all my most unusual experiences here. It occurred to me that there might others that I couldn’t think of and that later they would come to mind. Sure enough, after reading a post on out-of-body experiences by Marcus Anthony on his fascinating blog, an exotic dream experience came to mind. So here it is. read more here
Osho on Carlos Castaneda and His Guru Don Juan
Question – Is Carlos Castaneda’s Guru, Don Juan an Enlightened Master?
Osho – If there were someone like Don Juan he would be enlightened, he would be like a Buddha or a Lao Tzu — but there is nobody like Don Juan. Carlos Castaneda’s books are ninety-nine per cent fiction — beautiful, artful, but fiction. As there are scientific fictions, there are spiritual fictions also. There are third-rate spiritual fictions and first-rate ones: if you want third-rate, then read Lobsang Rampa; if you want first-rate, then read Carlos Castaneda. He is a great master — of fiction. read more here
Chuck’s Place: Lions & Tigers & Bears, Oh Yes! Sorcerers & Witches & Shamans & Seers!
Words have power. Terms like sorcerers and witches conjure shady if not evil purpose. It was not until his final works that Carlos Castaneda decided to use the term “shaman” to describe his teacher, don Juan. Don Juan himself referred to his lineage as Seers. Seers are men and women of knowledge, who, through their unbending intent and ability to achieve inner silence, are capable of seeing energy as it flows in the universe. Read more here
